Terms and Conditions



 Ownership of goods will belong to the original purchaser only and any communications will only be through Sound & Vision and original purchaser.


1.1Sound & Vision provides top quality branded goods. The customer is guaranteed to be supplied in the most efficient manner possible at realistic prices, without any hidden extra charges of small print.
1.2The following terms and conditions apply to all transactions received by Sound & Vision via the telephone, Internet, mail and email. The placement of an order through these methods indicates your acceptance of these terms and conditions. Please read them carefully and print a copy for future reference. Terms and conditions do not affect your statutory rights.

Description of Goods

2.1All products sold are of a technical nature and we are sometimes unable to give full specifications of all products. All images, descriptive matter, specifications in our advertisements, relayed by telephone and on the Internet are for the sole purpose of giving an approximate description. Full details of specifications are available from manufacturer’s brochures or their websites.
2.2Please note that any Special Order Item will not be accepted for refund unless faulty, as the item will be ordered especially for you and subsequently cannot be resold. Terms and conditions do not affect your statutory rights.
2.3Mail Order Return items are products that have been returned by customers. Each item is inspected and tested and repaired if necessary prior to being offered to customers.
2.4Display items are products that have been on display: they may previously have been repaired during this period or may have been mail order returned products.

Product & Pricing Information

3.1All product specifications, images and other information published in our advertisements and on our website have been made accessible by suppliers, manufacturers and publications. Sound and Vision cannot guarantee the reliability or accuracy of the information and prices described, published or quoted, please note that these terms and conditions do not affect your statutory rights.
3.2All prices quoted on our website are fully inclusive of delivery charges after a valid post code has been entered at the checkout.
3.3Stands and pedestals for TV’s, flat panels and HIFI equipment are supplied flat packed for self assembly.
3.4We advise customers to keep their box and packaging in the event of having to return the product for any reason.
3.5Website prices are exclusive to the website and may not be available in store.


4.1All products and services are subject to availability and may be withdrawn at any time. If the goods are not supplied as specified within a reasonable period of time, we may offer a similar product or will refund you if the transaction is cancelled. We shall not be liable for any losses, costs, damages, charges, or any expenses caused by any delay in the delivery of the goods if they are delivered in a reasonable period of time.


5.1Sound & Vision accepts all major credit/debit cards including Visa, MasterCard and Switch. You must provide us with your exact billing address and telephone number, which is held with your credit/debit card company. Any incorrect information given will cause delays in your ordered being processed.
5.2Your order will only be processed once an authorization code has been received. Cheques and postal orders take a minimum of 10 days from receipt until payment has cleared then goods can be released for dispatch. Sound & Vision reserve the right to charge 2.5% for credit card transactions, with 3% for Amex. All offers are inclusive of V.A.T.
5.3Please note when placing your order by Credit Card we shall only deliver to the address the Credit Card is registered to.

Errors and Omissions

6.1In the event a product is listed or quoted at an incorrect price due to an error from our suppliers or publishers. We reserve the right to refuse any orders listed at the incorrect price. If your credit/debit card has been charged and we subsequently cancel your order, we will immediately issue a refund to your credit/debit card.


7.1Delivery of all products, which are available in stock, will be completed as a door-to-door service in the UK mainland only. Important notice! On acceptance of your delivery, if you are unable to have the contents of the package checked then please sign the delivery note UNCHECKED!
7.2Large screen products will be delivered via a 2-man delivery service with delivery times between 5-7 working days from clearance of payment. Sound & Vision reserve the right to use an alternative courier service where necessary.
7.3If an arranged and confirmed delivery date relating to a large screen product as stated in Para 7.2 fails due to a breach of contract by the customer then a re-delivery charge of £35.00 will be applied to the customers account.
7.4Areas in northern and north western Scotland may be subject to slightly longer delays please check when ordering.
7.5All portable products, which are available in stock, will be sent via a national courier on a 2 working day delivery service from clearance of payment.
7.6We will endeavour to deliver goods within the times stated but goods are subject to availability and sometimes delays are outside our control. We shall not be liable for any losses, costs, damages, charges, or expenses caused by any delay in the delivery of the goods if they are delivered within a reasonable period of time.
7.7Regarding failed deliveries of products (not stated in Para 7.2) which have been returned to us owing to a breach of contract by the consumer; Customers will receive a letter from us, advising that they have 7 days to contact us to rearrange delivery. Failing this, the product will be returned to stock and a refund will be processed less a £25.00 administration charge.


8.1Sorry, but we currently do not ship to countries outside the UK.

Acceptance & Risk

9.1When the goods are delivered to your door you will be responsible for them. We will only deliver goods to the address on the order and goods will not be left without a signature.
9.2From the time of receipted delivery of the goods, any loss or damage to the goods shall be at your risk.
9.3Any transit shortages and damages should be noted on the delivery consignment note at the time of delivery as this may prejudice your claim.

Notification of Claims

10.1Shortages, damages and incorrect goods should be reported to Sound & Vision within 3 days from receipt, any delay in doing so may prejudice your claim.

Extended Guarantees

11.1Unless otherwise stated, Domestic & General Insurance Ltd will cover any extended guarantees purchased through Sound & Vision. Damages and Breakdowns are dealt direct through Domestic & General Insurance. Please contact the claims department on Tel: 0870 549 0000 where they will process the claim on your behalf.

Product Guarantees

12.1All products supplied are covered by the terms and conditions of the manufacturers guarantee and are covered by the stipulated guarantee period.
12.2Consumable products carry a minimum of 3 months guarantee i.e. camera/camcorder batteries, memory cards. This guarantee specifically excludes faults by accident, neglect and misuse.
12.3Routine maintenance, digital switchover, tuning of channels, convergence and user interface configuration that are available within the user's remit are not covered under the manufacturers guarantee.
12.4All products that are found to be working to the manufacturers specifications will be subject to carriage and inspection surcharges. In addition Sound & Vision will charge a £25.00 flat rate administration fee for processing information. A detailed breakdown cost can be obtained from the customer services department on 0845 345 3789 on application.

Under Guarantee Repairs

13.1All goods that develop faults should be reported to Customer Services by completing the online fault reporting form or a manual fault form that is to be sent back via post, fax or email to: customer.service@soundandvision.co.uk detailing your problem, this form is available from the customer services department on Tel: 0845 345 3789 or on our website at www.soundandvisiononline.com/snv/snvserviceform.asp.
13.2All large items will be collected by your local service centre or retailer and repaired in an authorized service centre.
13.3Where appropriate customer services will provide details of your local authorized service centre for products that are covered by a return to base warranty.
13.4We advise all customers that if they are packaging the goods "for transit return for repair"; Sound & Vision recommend that the original box and packaging material should be used where available, as, should the goods be packaged in a negligent manner, then you will be responsible for the damage that may be sustained during transit.
13.5All Service Agent charges plus an administration fee of £25.00 will be invoiced to the consumer in the event of the consumer refusing the repair or the product being found to be working to the manufacturer's specifications.
13.6Customer services will contact you and provide you with a returns address and reference number for annotation on the packaging of the unit.
13.7LCD technology: please be aware that LCD panels are manufactured with a remarkably high level of precision technology. As such the manufacturer cannot guarantee and the buyer needs to be aware that sometimes parts of the screen may have missing or colour pixels. This is not considered a malfunction with the LCD panel; however manufacturers have a tolerance level as to the level of failed pixels where they may consider taking the unit back as faulty for refund/exchange (PLEASE SEE TERMS AND CONDITIONS). We suggest contacting the manufacturer regarding the tolerance levels on their products.

Returned Goods

14.1In line with the Distance Selling Regulations 2000 you are required to send a notice of cancellation in writing or another durable medium, including fax or e-mail within seven working days from receipt. Please be aware that business to business transactions are not covered under the Distance Selling Regulations 2000. Please state your customer account number, sale number and reason for cancellation of the goods. A telephone call is not enough to constitute a cancellation.
14.2If you exercise your right to cancel such goods under the “cooling off period”, the ownership of the goods will revert to the supplier, exceptions to the right includes sealed software, discs and tapes which have been opened. These will remain the property of the consumer and will not be credited. Please also note, cables bought as accessories will only be accepted back if they are still in the original box and packaging which is still sealed.
14.3The regulations impose a responsibility on the consumer to take reasonable care of any goods that have been supplied. The obligation applies before as well as after the consumer has given the notice of cancellation.
14.4You will be required to return all goods you have been supplied at your own expense, you are under a duty to take reasonable care of the goods and to see that they are received by us and not damaged in transit, as such we advise our customers to retain the original box and packaging materials provided with the goods. Any free gifts or promotional offers received with the product must also be returned.
14.5We advise our customers that all accessories should be unopened; including cabinets, remote controls, speaker wire, batteries and scart leads, any accessories missing from the returned product will incur an administration charge of £25.00 plus the replacement cost from the manufacturer.
14.6Goods that have not been cancelled within 7 working days under the “cooling off period” will be refused. Goods that do not meet the above criteria will be subjected to additional surcharges.
14.7Goods that have been purchased and have failed within 28 days of receipt will be collected inspected and repaired, replaced or refunded if they do not fall within manufacturers specifications, this does not affect your statutory rights.
14.8You should complete a customer service document that should be sent back via post, fax or email to customer.service@soundandvision.co.uk detailing your problem, this form is available from the customer services department on Tel: 0845 345 3789 or email for a copy.
14.9Goods that we find working to manufacturers specifications will be returned to you and the cost of the carriage charged to your account. Any returned goods refused to be accepted back by the customer will also incur direct costs at a minimum 15% of the invoice price plus a flat rate of £25.00 administration fee for processing.
14.10If under the 7 working days “cooling off period” you wish to cancel the contract, you will need to arrange the return of the supplied products at your own cost. Please be aware when arranging the return that you will need to take out adequate insurance on the goods should they become damaged in transit. Please note, should you not be able to arrange a return the minimum direct costs for a collection return arranged by Sound and Vision on the customers behalf will be £69.99 regardless of the product.
14.11The Distance Selling Regulations 2000 do not apply when purchased in the Sound and Vision store or seen in store then ordered by telephone, fax, email or order form.
14.12Self assembly products: (AV furniture including wall brackets) consumers are under a duty to take reasonable care of the goods. We consider that by assembling the product that the consumer has not taken reasonable care and we cannot accept the goods back once it has been assembled. The package can be carefully opened and the goods inspected for the correct size and to make sure all items required for assembly are present. That way if they are incorrect they can be resealed and returned (see t&c for full details).

Inner City Charges

15.1Due to government legislations regarding inner city congestion, any additional costs incurred may be levied back to you. This includes delivery, collections and engineer call outs. Please call for more information.


16.1You will own the goods once we have received your payment in full.
16.2You will receive an invoice on receipt of the goods and copies are available by emailing sales@soundandvision.co.uk
16.3Phone calls may be recorded for training purposes
16.4Failure by us to enforce any of these terms and conditions will not affect our right to enforce the rest of these terms and conditions.
16.5These terms and conditions are subject to change at any time without prior notice to you and do not affect your statutory rights
