Transcript of Video Review

Hello there, my name is Chris - Sales Manager of Sound and Vision in Bolton.  We are looking at a new product today from Panasonic.  The model number is the TXL26X20.  It is a 26 inch LCD screen.

The sockets on the rear:  you are looking at two HDMI sockets, two scart sockets, you have got one Component socket, which is the red/green/blue connection - units like Xbox and some DVDs use Component - we have got that socket on there.  We have also got a PC socket so if you want to plug your PC or laptop directly into it you can do it through the sub-socket on the rear of this TV or through one of the HDMIs.

You have also got Digital Optical Out, so if you want to feed the audio out of this TV through an external amplifier you can do so digitally through the optical socket.  You have also got an Analogue Audio Out on the rear of the TV as well.

On the side of the set you have got another HDMI socket - so three HDMI sockets in total.  You have also got composite video inputs on here as well, so if you want to plug a Wii games console in here you can do that as well.  There is an SD card reader, so if you have got a digital still camera you can put your SD card in and you can have your footage directly on the screen.  And you have also got a headphone socket.

So a multiple array of sockets on the back and on the side of this TV.

The set itself is HD-ready.  It is 50,000 : 1 contrast ratio.  You have also got a digital tuner built into this set, so you have got the full guide system on the TV.  So if you want to view what is coming on later on that day, you just press the Guide button on the remote control.  And you have got the channels running down here, from BBC1 to ITV, Channel 4, Channel Five.  And then you have also got the Programme Content on the screen there so you can see what is on later that day.  And you can also skip ahead 24 hours by just pressing the green button on the remote control.

You have also got on the set itself, on the Menu facility, full adjustments for the picture, the sound and setup.  So in the Picture menu, we just click the OK button and we have got preset adjustments for Dynamic, Normal, Cinema and True Cinema, and back to Dynamic.  These are just preset modes for the Colour, Contrast, Brightness and Sharpness set by the manufacturer.  But you can drop down into those and you can alter the contrast and the brightness and the colour to however you want it, and also the sharpness on there as well.

Also on here you have got the Panasonic C.A.T.S. system built into it.  On the front of this TV you have got a little photocell down here which is constantly measuring the ambient light of the room.  If you have that switched on, it will always keep the picture for optimum contrast performance.  So we have got the C.A.T.S. system built into there as well.

If we come out of the Picture menu and down into the Sound menu, you have also got adjustments on there for preset modes for Music or Speech which gives you adjustments for base and treble.  But you have also got a further one which is User Mode.  If you go into the User Mode it gives you access then to an equaliser where you have got base adjustments on here but you have also got mid-range adjustments for the sound as well as the high frequencies as well.

So for a 26 inch screen you have a got a lot of adjustment over the sound quality; a very good audio system for the size of the actual panel itself.

What I would say is if you would like more details on this set, please give me a call - my name is Chris - at Sound and Vision on 01204 861 861, or just go over to our website which is www.soundandvision.co.uk, or just click the link at the side of the screen.

Thank you.
